If you’re in the wellness, health coaching or fitness business you can’t have failed to notice the rise of online programs, courses, memberships and websites in the past few years.
Perhaps you’ve even thought about creating your OWN online program for your wellness or fitness business. Maybe you’ve created some content, or filmed some videos, or revamped your website. Maybe you've even got a few people to try out your program and test it.
So why haven’t you successfully launched your passion-fuelled online project to the world yet?

And let’s be real, you don’t want to waste time, money and energy on building something that bombs.
When I work with my students or clients to help them get started on their online journey I find there are 4 things holding them back I'm so sharing these 4 things with you now. Then I'll show you the steps to take instead to create your dream wellness business on the world wide web!

It’s allowed me to reach clients that don’t otherwise have access to wellness and health coaching and enabled me to work in a field I love while being a mom. Plus I have some semblance of balance in my life, all while making real money doing it! That's why sharing this with you now.)
So that said…let’s get stuck into the good stuff…
Most people think that creating an online program is as simple as building a beautiful website and creating content for your program (and getting a Skype account.)
They might also think that once they’ve got their program ready to rock, leaving it on their website with a “Buy Now” button will have clients signing up faster than you can say ‘healthy hotcakes’.
But in fact, your website won’t sell your services unless it’s part of a bigger marketing strategy to launch your online program.
Imagine you’re opening a new yoga studio, or a wellness clinic, or a gym. In real life, you’d throw up the banners, send out press releases and have a little party or open day, or some kind of launch promotion to get people excited and in the doors. If you didn’t do that, and simply opened up on the quiet, you’d get a drip, drip of new clients, but not enough to pay rent. Right?
It’s the same with your online business, but you don’t have banners, free trial days, mocktail parties and goodie bags to help you get new clients.
Instead, you can create an online launch strategy – kinda like a virtual launch event – will help raise awareness amongst your ideal clients online and then guide them into becoming your paying clients.
Think of an online launch like an entire system that works to help people who are interested in what you offer to make that decision to work with you.
My online marketing system is a heck-of-a-lot more than a sales page about your program and a shiny new website (although I can help with that too.)
Here’s how it works.
My online marketing system includes creating a bundle of relevant content around your offer. For example, if you’re a health coach who works with clients to fight diabetes, you might start by creating some free content such as blog posts, pdf’s or podcasts that your ideal clients might be interested. Think…“10 Ways To Naturally Lower Your Blood Sugar And Combat Diabetes”.

The system also has elements that help you use that content to build an email list, a specific email marketing strategy and a soulful sales process that focuses on helping your potential client to become a paying customer, using psychology, scarcity and bonus incentives to help them to commit. And of course, because this is online, there’s a tech part that needs to be put in place too.
Many wellpreneurs don’t feel comfortable with the thought of actively selling services, but let’s face it, in our business, a lot of people need help but struggle to commit to themselves, or feel guilty for doing so and never take action.
An online marketing system, when done right, is simply a way of helping them to come to a place where they feel confident in taking that essential first step so they can have better health and wellbeing and experience a vital transformation.
Here’s the best part. When this system has been perfected and finely tuned, you can repeat it over and over to get a steady stream of paying clients into your business so that you can have that extra income and impact, without exhaustion and overwhelm!
And it won’t feel sleazy, or salesy or icky!
It’s true that there’s a learning curve with launching an online program but it’s entirely possible for the launch process to be simple. In fact, there are types of online launches that are so easy you’ll think you missed something!
Whatever launch method you choose it really helps when you have a blueprint or system to follow that takes out all of the guesswork.
Whether it’s knowing how to create a freebie that attracts your ideal clients to your email list effortlessly, to knowing how to set up your email marketing system or tech to work perfectly, or knowing what metrics to measure or tweaks to make, having a complete map of the process takes out a lot of the stress, wasted time and uncertainty that holds back a lot of coaches.
There’s a reason why not all health, fitness or wellness pro’s have their own online programs yet, and that’s because there IS a learning curve. But the good news is that putting your course or program content online has gotten SO much easier, even in the last few years, so delivering your program is kind of a breeze and if you’re willing to be one of the few who is committed to mastering authentic online launches, then you’ll be in a great position compared to your competitors.
So yes, online launches can be extremely complex BUT you don’t need to have an full-on, all singing all dancing launch to get clients into your programs, all you need is a simple, effective strategy and the map so you stay on track.
And I know that because you’re reading this, you’re already one of the committed people who will invest the time and effort in learning to launch because you’ve already realised the potential impact this can have.
Times have changed on the world wide web and these days having a sleek website isn’t required to launch an online program. At all.
In fact, I had my first 5 figure launch for a fitness program without a website and without any social media following at all.
Let’s talk websites first. If you go the old route of putting your program for sale on your website and crossing your fingers then, yes, you’ll need a website because there’s no other place your clients will find your program.
BUT – with my marketing system you can skip the website altogether and use specific web pages that are especially and thoughtfully designed to enable your visitors to progress to clients. In fact, trying to sell your program on a standard page from your website can actually prevent you from having the most success, because standard website pages aren’t designed for conversions (in this case, a conversion means when someone converts from a interested browser into a paying client.)
You can also host your courses and program information on your course platform provider instead of your website which is great news, because these platforms are cost effective and simple to set up.
(Websites take time and we tend to get emotionally attached to them, especially if it’s your face and your brand on it. So it’s easy to use an unfinished website or lack of a logo to stop you from launching your program for months, or even years. That’s why I give my students suggestions for getting that website finished pronto, even if just for the confidence boost!)
The key takeaway here is that there are plenty of successful coaches and trainers who have launched online without a website, or launched and then then used the money to create their websites later.
There are also plenty of people with thousands of social media followers who still don’t have a profitable business and those with almost none that have a great online business.
Just like a website, you don’t need a large social media following to get going.
The cool thing about using an online marketing system to launch is it will build your social media following for you (instead of the other way around) OR, you can leverage an existing following to boost your launch if you do already have one.
However, you will need what we call an ‘audience’, and that’s simply people who are interested in hearing about what you do. To get new people in your audience there are some simple but specific and strategic steps that you can take using social media (even if you don’t have a following yet) that will make sure you have a pool of people ready to buy from you when you do officially launch, and that’s one of the first steps inside of my online marketing system.

There are numerous success stories of clients achieving great things through online programs so we know that it’s possible for it to work for you and your clients too.
In just about every niche there are thousands of success stories involved the transformations of ordinary people, made possible through technology and the passion and guidance of their coaches.
In our space we often pride ourselves on the level of personal attention and detail that gets our clients results and we’re reluctant to let it go.
That’s where online programs can be uber-flexible. You can structure them to include personalization, or to include a hybrid of offline/online services or to support your clients fully online.
In my years as an online coach I’ve discovered the keys to getting clients incredible results with online programs and it’s not more face time with you. (In fact, if you could solve a client problem in LESS time, don’t you think that would be more valuable to them?)
Instead the key to getting clients results comes down to packaging and pricing for your online offers and how to present that within your online marketing system. There are very specific things you can do during the buying stage to ensure that your clients get results by getting their total commitment to the process.
Another reason that a marketing system is an amazing tool to have up your sleeve is that it will weed out the people who are WRONG for your program early on.
It’s not great to have a program full of people who will request refunds or never become raving fans but with a specific marketing system in place, you’ll be able to ensure that you’re attracting the right people onto your program.
When that happens you’ll have happy clients!
